October 2010

We started out the month with Cathy and her friend Lori completing a 5K at the Morton Arboretum in Chicago.

The Homecoming dance was next. Lizzie came over and dolled up Dani. She was beeeeautiful, all dressed up. Her good friend Cole was her date and best bud Paige was over for fun pix. They went out to Mark's house for dinner and pictures before the dance.

Joe and Cathy went out on a few hiking and fall color trips this month. The first trip was to Devil's Lake in Wisconsin. They took the historic Merrimac car ferry across the Wisconsin River. What a beautiful day.

Joe and Dani dug into the El Camino a little more. They changed the oil and thoroughly cleaned out the interior.

The Conference Tennis finals took place this month as well. It was a very cold October Saturday. Dani took second place, second singles in the whole conference. We are VERY proud of her.

Joe and Cathy's second outing took them back to Devil's lake again. This time, they hiked all the way around the lake. It was a great day and the scenery was wonderful.

Joe took the little boat up to Sue's place on the Chain of Lakes. Compared to her boat, this one really is small, but ours was IN the water. We circled the entire chain and had lunch along the way.

Dani and Paige got together to make cookies. They ended up making cookie bars.

The first orchestra concert of the year was this month. Mr Tonaki recognized all of the IMEA qualifiers and we were proud to have Dani stand up.

Dani went out to the Convocation Center to see the Passion Pit concert.

Joe and Cathy made another hiking trip, this time to Rock Cut State Park in Rockford. It was a little cool out, but still a nice day.

Dani, Paige, Brittany and Cathy celebrated Joe's birthday with a mexican lunch at Los Rancheros.

The first Sinfonia concert of the season was held this month as well.

What would October be without the pumpkins on display at the court house to kick off the Pumpkinfest weekend?

Dani, Paige Aaron and others performed with the Kishwaukee Symphony Orchestra for their annual Halloween concert. Each section dresses in theme. The second violins were characters from the movie "Up", and the cello section were Hundred Acre Wood characters.

Finally, we ended the month on a beautiful fall day watching the Pumpkinfest Parade.
