June 2008

School ended for the season this month. Danielle and her friends made the best of it.

We made a trip up to Wisconsin Dells, with our friend Liz in tow, for a little after school fun. We were supposed to be in the cabin that we rented last June. We crossed the Wisconsin River on the Merrimac car ferry and drove through Devil's Lake State Park. As you can see, there was extensive flooding in the area. That caused Lake Delton to overflow it's banks and wash out a section of dam, which emptied the lake!

We didn't let the lack of a lake wreck our fun. We traded in our cabin for a room at the Wilderness Resort, played some mini golf, biked a little and had a great time at the water parks. It sure did rain alot while we were there, though.

After the Dell's, we got Dani out in the yard for her first experience with the lawn mower.(She didn't like it)

Culver's hosted another fine car show.

Father's Day was nice. First year without both of my girls in attendance. That was sad.

Danielle performed in the Geneva music competition again this year. She performed a solo and a duet with her friend Erica and received a third place trophy.

After the piano competition, Dani went to the U of I again for the ISYM week long music camp.

On Joe and Cathy's way to pick up Dani from camp, they made a detour to see some of the sights in Springfield.

The girls went out for Pizza on the evening before the big performance. The next day they sounded great in the big performance hall.

Joe and Doug went out for a little fishing and caught quite a few.

Cathy's birthday was this month and she was able to celebrate with a few friend and a little pampering at a local spa.

The birds came out so we decided to get a feeder. Yellow and house finches look nice outside our window.

And finally, what would the month be without our goofy pets?
